Alt-folk alchemist Seamus Fogarty has stuffed his imminent new album Ships with an array of veritable delights: the street preachers and stall holders of Walthamstow, Tracy Emin neons, Brian Wilson prog-pop, synth and banjo, Moog and tin whistle, spoken word laments, motorik-folk, Russian novelists, tins on trains, coffin-makers, the suburban ?? of Woking, and the County Mayo countryside — where the London-based musician grew up. He released his debut album God Damn You Mountain on cult Scottish label Fence Records back in 2012, and ever since he’s crafted songs that “nestle beautifully at the point where digital and analogue worlds collide”.
