Nation of Language

Nation of Language released their first two albums during the pandemic, and there’s a trace of isolation, melancholy, despair to their synth-pop songs. Nevertheless, at their core the Brooklyn group, who formed in 2016 and released their fourth album Dance Called Memory last year, remain fuelled by the vigour of 1980s pop — OMD, New Order, Human League, Yellow Magic Orchestra — as well as the minimal magic of Kraftwerk and Brian Eno.
