You will know James Ellis Ford’s work even if you think you don’t: the producer-du-jour has been responsible for some of the biggest albums in recent history, working with the likes of Arctic Monkeys, Pet Shop Boys, Pulp, Depeche Mode, Gorillaz, and Kylie. The composer, multi-instrumentalist, producer and songwriter is also one half of Simian Mobile Disco, produced this year’s Warchild charity record Help2, and somehow also finds time to make his own music: the follow-up to his 2023 psychedelic debut solo album The Hum arrives later this year.
