American indie pop duo Hovvdy — pronounced howdy — deal in jangling melody, nostalgia, references to their home city and state of Austin, Texas, and an Elliott Smith aesthetic. Their 2016 debut Taster was dubbed “pillowcore” and they released their self-titled fifth album — a mammoth double LP — in 2024.
