Wilco

Wilco know a thing or two about festivals: they’ve been running their own, Sky Blue Sky, in Mexico since 2020. But it's as eclectic cult heroes that Jeff Tweedy and co are best known, embedded in the alt-rock food chain since 1994 thanks to albums such as 1998’s Mermaid Avenue, their Woody Guthrie covers record with Billy Bragg, 2001’s yankee hotel foxtrot with its distinctive artwork of Chicago’s Marina Towers, and 2016’s Nilsson name-borrowing Schmilco. They can be quiet, they can be thunderous, but what’s never changed across three decades is their determination to treat the band as “a constantly evolving idea”.
